Day 24 of 33 — three in the morning for the three days, three at night for the three nights.
Morning — Why Should I Be Afraid?
Begin with the Breath of Life, then three movements to wake the body: two gentle ones from the Awakening Series (in bed, seated, or holding a chair) and one from the Deepening Series for those who are able. Use the modification you need.
The Breath of Life
Genesis 2:7 (NLT)
“Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”
Every morning on this path begins the way human life began — with the breath of God. Before you move, breathe. Receive this day’s breath as His gift.
AWAKENING BREATH “First Breath of the Day”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie in bed or sit comfortably
- Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly
- Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose for 4 counts (feel your belly rise)
- Hold for 2 counts
- Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts
- Repeat 10 times
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated: Same movement while sitting
- Standing: Same movement while standing
- Breathing Difficulty: Use shorter counts (3-2-4)
Able to stand? Use the standing version instead:
DYNAMIC AWAKENING BREATH “Breath with Movement”
MOVEMENT:
- Stand with feet hip-width apart
- As you inhale (4 counts), raise both arms overhead
- Hold breath at top (2 counts), reaching tall
- As you exhale (6 counts), lower arms slowly to sides
- Repeat 15 times

SCRIPTURE:
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?” — Psalm 27:1 (NLT)
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
Exercise 1 of 3 — from the Awakening Series, Morning Exercise #16
1. ARM RAISES (ALTERNATING) “Reaching Upward”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie on your back or sit upright
- Raise your right arm straight up toward the ceiling (or sky if outside)
- Lower it slowly
- Raise your left arm
- Alternate arms for 20 raises (10 per arm)
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: Raise arms only partway
- Seated/Standing: Extend arms fully overhead
- Limited Mobility: Raise arms only as high as comfortable
- Shoulder Pain: Keep arms lower
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
MEDITATION:
The LORD is your light and your salvation—so why should you be afraid? The LORD is your fortress, protecting you from danger—so why should you tremble? Some mornings you wake and your world feels flipped, everything out of place. But you do not fear. God is still your light even when your world is upside down. As you moved gently this morning, you were settling into that light. Fear has no place here. He is your fortress today.

Exercise 2 of 3 — from the Deepening Series, Morning Exercise #25
2. DEAD BUGS “Core Control”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie on back with arms extended toward ceiling
- Lift legs with knees bent at 90 degrees
- Lower right arm overhead while extending left leg straight
- Return to starting position
- Switch sides (left arm, right leg)
- Complete 20 total (10 per side)
- Rest, repeat for 2 sets
MODIFICATIONS:
- Easier: Keep knees bent, do not extend leg fully
- Harder: Move slower for more time under tension
- Lower Back Pain: Keep movements smaller
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
ENCOURAGEMENT:
Why should you fear? Even when life is upside down, God is your light. Stand steady. No fear today.
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
Exercise 3 of 3 — from the Awakening Series, Morning Exercise #19
3. HAND SQUEEZES “Grip Strength”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie in bed or sit comfortably
- Make a tight fist with your right hand
- Squeeze as hard as comfortable for 5 seconds
- Release and spread fingers wide
- Repeat with left hand
- Alternate hands for 20 squeezes (10 per hand)
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated/Standing: Same movement
- Limited Strength: Squeeze gently
- Arthritis: Very light squeezes
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
CLOSING PRAYER:
Father, thank You for this new morning. Your mercies are new again today. Go with me into every hour of it, and let my body and my life be a prayer to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Evening — Restored Again
Three movements to release the day and prepare for rest: one stretch from the Deepening Series for those who are able, then two gentle ones, ending in stillness. Use the modification you need.
SCRIPTURE:
“You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth.” — Psalm 71:20 (NLT)
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
Exercise 1 of 3 — from the Deepening Series, Evening Exercise #26
1. SHOULDER STRETCH ACROSS CHEST “Deep Shoulder Release”
MOVEMENT:
- Sit or stand comfortably
- Bring right arm across chest
- Use left arm to gently pull right arm closer
- Keep right shoulder down (do not hunch)
- Hold for 30 seconds
- Switch arms, hold for 30 seconds
- Repeat 3 times per arm
MODIFICATIONS:
- Easier: Do not pull arm tightly, keep stretch gentle
- Harder: Deepen stretch by pulling arm closer
- Shoulder Pain: Very gentle pull
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
MEDITATION:
As you stretched tonight, you released your upper back and shoulders—the places that pulled, pressed, and carried all day. God will restore you to life again. Maybe today was hard. Maybe your shoulders held heavy loads. But God will revive you again. This is not the end. As you breathe and rest, receive revival. God is renewing what was depleted. Lay the day down.

Exercise 2 of 3 — from the Awakening Series, Evening Exercise #24

- Finish with entire body relaxed
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated: Same sequence while sitting
- Limited Mobility: Tense only to comfort level
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧

God will restore you again. This is not the end. Breathe and rest. Revival is coming.

- Hold for 10 seconds
- Return to neutral
- Repeat 5 times
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated/Standing: Same movement
- Limited Mobility: Very small movements
- Neck Pain: Do not tilt far; just acknowledge the stretch
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for carrying me through this day. I lay it down at Your feet — what went well and what did not. Watch over me as I sleep, and wake me ready to walk with You again. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Day 24 complete. Rest well. Tomorrow is Day 25.
