Day 16 of 33 — three in the morning for the three days, three at night for the three nights.
Morning — My Strength and My Song
Begin with the Breath of Life, then three movements to wake the body: two gentle ones from the Awakening Series (in bed, seated, or holding a chair) and one from the Deepening Series for those who are able. Use the modification you need.
The Breath of Life
Genesis 2:7 (NLT)
“Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”
Every morning on this path begins the way human life began — with the breath of God. Before you move, breathe. Receive this day’s breath as His gift.
AWAKENING BREATH “First Breath of the Day”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie in bed or sit comfortably
- Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly
- Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose for 4 counts (feel your belly rise)
- Hold for 2 counts
- Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts
- Repeat 10 times
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated: Same movement while sitting
- Standing: Same movement while standing
- Breathing Difficulty: Use shorter counts (3-2-4)
Able to stand? Use the standing version instead:
DYNAMIC AWAKENING BREATH “Breath with Movement”
MOVEMENT:
- Stand with feet hip-width apart
- As you inhale (4 counts), raise both arms overhead
- Hold breath at top (2 counts), reaching tall
- As you exhale (6 counts), lower arms slowly to sides
- Repeat 15 times

“The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” — Exodus 15:2 (NLT)

1. HAND SQUEEZES “Grip Strength”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie in bed or sit comfortably
- Make a tight fist with your right hand

MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated/Standing: Same movement
- Limited Strength: Squeeze gently
- Arthritis: Very light squeezes

MEDITATION:
The LORD is your strength and your song. He has given you victory. As you moved this morning, you were not grinding through the day’s first minutes—you were celebrating. Every gentle movement was a small song of thanks. Your body woke. Your breath came. You moved. That is victory. God is your strength. He is also your song. Let this day begin with praise, and let every movement carry it forward. Celebrate His power.

Evening — Wait Patiently
Three movements to release the day and prepare for rest: one stretch from the Deepening Series for those who are able, then two gentle ones, ending in stillness. Use the modification you need.
SCRIPTURE:
“Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act.” — Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

Exercise 1 of 3 — from the Deepening Series, Evening Exercise #11
1. STANDING FIGURE-FOUR STRETCH “Deep Hip Release”
MOVEMENT:
- Stand, holding chair for balance
- Cross right ankle over left knee (figure-four position)
- Gently lower hips, sitting back slightly
- Feel stretch in right hip and glute
- Hold for 30 seconds
- Switch legs, hold for 30 seconds
- Repeat 2 times per leg
MODIFICATIONS:
- Easier: Do not sit back deeply, hold support with both hands
- Harder: Sit back deeper for stronger stretch
- Balance Issues: Perform seated in chair
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
MEDITATION:
As you released tonight, you let the day’s tension drain out—from hips to shoulders. Be still in the presence of the LORD. Wait patiently for Him to act. You are not rushing. You are resting, waiting on God. Stillness is difficult after a busy day. But practice waiting patiently—still, quiet, trusting God in the waiting. Lay the day down. He is acting even while you sleep.
