Day 27 of 33 — three in the morning for the three days, three at night for the three nights.
Morning — Show Me Where to Walk
Begin with the Breath of Life, then three movements to wake the body: two gentle ones from the Awakening Series (in bed, seated, or holding a chair) and one from the Deepening Series for those who are able. Use the modification you need.
The Breath of Life
Genesis 2:7 (NLT)
“Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”
Every morning on this path begins the way human life began — with the breath of God. Before you move, breathe. Receive this day’s breath as His gift.
AWAKENING BREATH “First Breath of the Day”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie in bed or sit comfortably
- Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly
- Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose for 4 counts (feel your belly rise)
- Hold for 2 counts
- Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts
- Repeat 10 times
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated: Same movement while sitting
- Standing: Same movement while standing
- Breathing Difficulty: Use shorter counts (3-2-4)
Able to stand? Use the standing version instead:
DYNAMIC AWAKENING BREATH “Breath with Movement”
MOVEMENT:
- Stand with feet hip-width apart
- As you inhale (4 counts), raise both arms overhead
- Hold breath at top (2 counts), reaching tall
- As you exhale (6 counts), lower arms slowly to sides
- Repeat 15 times

SCRIPTURE:
“Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.” — Psalm 143:8 (NLT)

Exercise 1 of 3 — from the Awakening Series, Morning Exercise #23
1. ARM CROSS-OVERS “Chest and Shoulder Stretch”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie on your back or sit upright
- Extend your right arm across your chest
- Use your left hand to gently pull it closer
- Hold stretch for 15 seconds
- Release and repeat with left arm
- Complete 3 stretches per arm
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound: As described
- Seated/Standing: Same movement
- Limited Mobility: Do not pull arm far; just hold it across chest
- Shoulder Pain: Very gentle stretch
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
MEDITATION:
Let me hear of Your unfailing love each morning. Before the news. Before the phone. Before the worries line up at the door. His love first. Then comes the prayer: show me where to walk. You have just moved your legs, your feet, your whole body into this day. Now give that body to Him. I give myself to You. Where He leads, you can walk. His love goes before every step.

Evening — Everlasting Arms
Three movements to release the day and prepare for rest: one stretch from the Deepening Series for those who are able, then two gentle ones, ending in stillness. Use the modification you need.
SCRIPTURE:
“The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you.” — Deuteronomy 33:27 (NLT)
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
Exercise 1 of 3 — from the Deepening Series, Evening Exercise #31
1. BODY SCAN WITH RELEASE “Systematic Letting Go”
MOVEMENT:
- Lie comfortably on your back
- Starting with toes, mentally scan each body part
- As you notice each part, consciously release all tension
- Move slowly up: feet, legs, hips, stomach, chest, arms, hands, shoulders, neck, head
- At each part, think: Thank you, [body part], for today. I release you to rest.
- Finish with whole body relaxed
- Rest in complete stillness for 2 minutes
MODIFICATIONS:
- Any Position: Use whatever position is most comfortable
- Emotional Difficulty: If gratitude is hard, just acknowledge: Feet, you worked today.
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
MEDITATION:
His everlasting arms are under you. Not above you, pressing down. Under you, holding you up. As you stretched tonight and let your body rest into the chair, the bed, the floor, you felt something holding your weight. That is a picture of God. When you are too tired to hold yourself up, you do not fall through. His arms are underneath. The eternal God is your refuge tonight.

- Place left hand on top of right
- Close your eyes if comfortable
- Feel your heartbeat for 1 minute
- With each beat, think: I am alive. I am held. I am safe.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound/Seated/Standing: Same movement
- Emotional Difficulty: Keep eyes open if closing them feels unsafe
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
ENCOURAGEMENT:
Rest your full weight on Him tonight. His everlasting arms are under you.
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
Exercise 3 of 3 — from the Awakening Series, Morning Exercise #33
3. GRATITUDE BREATH “Ending with Thanksgiving”

- Take a deep breath in through your nose for 4 counts
- Hold for 2 counts

- Repeat for 5 full breath cycles
MODIFICATIONS:
- Bed-Bound/Seated/Standing: Same movement
- Breathing Difficulty: Use comfortable counts (3-2-4)
- Emotional Difficulty: If gratitude is hard, just acknowledge: I’m breathing. That’s enough.
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for carrying me through this day. I lay it down at Your feet — what went well and what did not. Watch over me as I sleep, and wake me ready to walk with You again. In Jesus’ name, amen.
